Department of Veterans’ Affairs Gold Card
The Veteran Gold Card, issued by the Australian Government Department of Veterans’ Affairs, provides comprehensive health coverage for eligible individuals. This includes veterans who have qualifying service, such as those who served in conflicts or hazardous operations. It is also available to former Prisoners of War (POWs) and those who have a disability resulting from their service, as assessed by the DVA.
Additionally, it covers the dependents of veterans, including war widows and widowers and eligible children. The Gold Card ensures that these individuals receive full access to medical and allied health services, including dental care, at no cost to the cardholder.
Access Many Services
With the DVA Gold Card, veterans can access a wide range of dental services, such as
- Regular check-ups and cleanings (usually once every six months)
- Prevention of tooth decay
- Fillings
- Dentures
- Treatments for dental injuries or conditions
